In Bedford Yards Ind a 93 year old Lloyd Prather was shot by Chicago Milwaukee St Paul railroad special agents Turket and Worthington while allegedly stealing from freight cars. He was wounded in the abdomen and taken to Dunn Memorial hospital. Prather had a prior incident of reportedly attempting suicide in Indianapolis.

A civil war pass signed by President Lincoln granting Confederate Gen. Roger A. Pryor access through Union lines for a prisoner exchange conference with Gen. Grant was found in Rochester. W. Tisdale, 84, a former Lincoln aide and Pryor court attendant, possesses the document. A Union veteran, Dunbar, forwarded it to Tisdale to reach Pryor’s heirs.
