One person seriously injured and two uninjured in a series of accidents. Mrs Frank Sabo of Newberry escaped with no injuries when her car wrecked north of Farmersburg while en route to Terre Haute for business. Lewis Yoho of Newberry sustained a broken arm and head injuries after a hit and run on State Road 54 east of Switz City. John Willey of Bloomfield escaped injury when his car overturned following a sudden stop by the car being followed. Police reported no trace of the hit run driver.

A pet mouse named Mickey serenades visitors at Mr and Mrs William Doc Wilsons home on Linton R1 four miles north of town on State road 59. The couple kept the mouse in a bird cage near a canary after capturing it in a bucket of sugar corn. The rodent emits varied sounds resembling a rain crow a puppy and small chickens along with whistling. Locals flock to the farm to hear the singing mouse which has drawn cash offers from guests but the Wilsons say Mickey drinks water and eats cheese and minced ham several times daily.
