Salisbury Massachusetts resident Mrs Tracy Patten credits Lydia E Pinkham's Vegetable Compound with overcoming seven years of female trouble and bearing-down pains. She recalls her doctor doubting pregnancy but attributes a successful birth on Peace Day to the remedy. The testimonial urges other women to try the product for displacement backache and related symptoms.

Emery Powell and wife wintering in Daytona Fla captured top honors in a 10 entrant trap contest at Seabreeze Gun Club. Powell scored a perfect 100, then repeated with a perfect 24 in finals against rival Gillespie. Seibert and Haw Bonser also featured, with Seibert breaking 194 of 200 targets and the team prize going to Gillespie and Seibert.
The local lodge of Elks held its annual officer election. Ruler Claude Maxwell leads as exalted ruler, with B A Pierson as leading knight, Paul Fry as loyal knight, Chas Templeton as lecturing knight, Clyde V. Davis as secretary, C A Murphy as treasurer, Julius Cooper as Tyler, Quincy J Mitchell as trustee, T Stan ton Martin as delegate and Clyde V Davis as alternate delegate. The building committee reports new lodge rooms at Main and B streets Northwest will be ready by April 1 and April meetings may be held in the new lodge room barring unforeseen circumstances.
The 1921 scene follows the polished Overland Special rolling into Beachville with Jack Danby serving as assistant express messenger and his father joining as a grateful passenger. A train robbery attempt is thwarted by the elder Danby who uses a revolver to subdue a robber, preserving the payroll and the engagement ring for Nance Burdick.
Thieves broke into L. Brooks and Son at New Lebanon last Wednesday night, taking about fifteen dollars from the register and shoes and other merchandise. Entrance was gained by removing a rear window.
