Local Students Sweep Top Latin Honors in Greene County Contest
Barbara Raney of Linton High led Division 1 with a 174.9 score in the Indiana University Extension sponsored Latin contest held Saturday at Bloomfield. Chester Stoeckel of Linton won Division 2 with 167.7. Robert Bedwell, also of Linton, was second in Division 2 with 150.1. Other participants included students from Jasonville Midland Newberry Bloomfield and Linton high schools.

Carlisle farmer Reason Hildenbrand dies at 86
Funeral services were held for Reason Hildenbrand a Carlisle area farmer aged 86 who died after a lingering illness at his country home. He was born near Carlisle on June 15 1650 spent his life in Sullivan county and was a Bethany church member. Surviving children are Della Claude and Albert Hildenbrand. His wife Sarah E.
