Jesse Fielding Sent to State Penal Farm Amid Prohibition Charge
Jesse Fielding of Jasonville was convicted in mayor’s court for violating prohibition. His 30 day penal farm sentence, suspended for good behavior, was invoked after his intoxication arrest and he was sent to the state penal institution. An inmate from Greene County, William Martin, escaped from the same institution, believed headed to Missouri. Two horses stolen in Highland township two months ago were recovered in Sullivan County and returned to the owner.

Parcel post service to start in Sullivan July 1
Sullivan Indiana plans daily parcel post delivery starting July 1. A six hour schedule will cover business and residential sections with one daily delivery by the carrier and two regular foot deliveries in residences. An early morning parcel post run will serve the main business area with a second delivery around 9 30 a m as the route begins.
