Reformatory transfer delayed in Jeffersonville sale
Indianapolis June 29. Sale of the Jeffersonville reformatory to Colgate and Co will stand but without a time limit for the state to vacate. Governor McCray Austen Colgate and the firm say delivery may be delayed but both sides expect to complete the deal with possible legislative action if needed.

Lightning Kills 18-Year-Old in Petersburg Lawn
Earl Brenton of Winslow was killed by a lightning strike while taking shelter under a tree on the lawn of Oliver Breemster in Petersburg Indiana. The strike was unseen but the body lay beneath the tree after the storm. no scorch marks were found on the tree.
