WPA Nursery Schools Assist 800 Indiana Children

In Indianapolis 36 WPA nurseries serve about 800 children from homes with no mother or with employed mothers or large families. Each group of twenty two teachers provide daily activities from 9:09 to 4:00 with outdoor play, meals, naps, and individualized attention aided by health checks. The program also offers jobs for 72 unemployed teachers.
