Mrs Sarah Jane Edds aged 89 died at seven o'clock Thursday evening at her daughter Mrs Katie Knight's home in Farmersburg. She leaves two sons Ernest Edds Sullivan and Glessie Edds Dugger two daughters Nola Walters Shelburn and Mrs Knight and a brother Homer Carrico of Carlisle. The body was sent to Newkirk Funeral Home in Dugger where friends may call after Saturday morning. Funeral services are planned at Bethany Church of Christ at 4:00 Sunday with burial in Bethany cemetery.
Fire blamed on a lightning bolt destroyed the Miner Sawmill in Warsaw Indiana Thursday night with losses around 20000 dollars. Firemen from Warsaw Winona Lake Pierceton Leesburg and Claypool kept the flames from reaching thousands of feet of lumber in a yard near the mill. A thunderstorm dumped about an inch of rain on the area.
Kenneth D. Boller, 18, of Lafayette, was found guilty by a Montgomery Circuit Court jury of second degree burglary. He was arrested with four other Tippecanoe County youths in a Linden food market break in March 23 and sentenced by Judge Howard Sommer to 25 years in the Indiana Reformatory.

Frances Tolbert, 14, died when a lightning bolt struck a shed where she and her brothers Albert 12 and George 5 sheltered from a storm near the National Gypsum Co. plant in Shoals Indiana. Albert and George were knocked down but not seriously hurt. rescuers rushed a resuscitator to the Tolbert home.

A Switz City mother and her five week old daughter were injured in a Thursday afternoon crash at state road 54 and highway 57. Mrs. Robert Lee Brock aged 17 suffered a pelvis fracture and other injuries. her daughter Ritta Sue Brock, five weeks old, had a fractured leg. Emmett J. Higgins, 46, of Wayne Michigan, had chest injuries and minor cuts. Higgins’ car caught fire and was extinguished by a passerby. Frank Dean justice of the peace will hear reckless driving and stop sign charges by June 30.
In Eldora Iowa Senator Estes Kefauver charged President Eisenhower broke campaign promises and will not pursue a new farm policy. He said Agriculture Secretary Ezra Benson and the administration do not understand rural America’s problems while addressing the Iowa Corn Belt Farm Family Field Day with Benson on the platform.
Raleigh Kirchoff a 45 year old Freelandville tractor contractor was killed when a lightning bolt struck a tree root he stood on while taking shelter from a storm near Otwell Indiana. Two colleagues Harold Belcher and Larry Davis were burned and shocked and treated at Daviess County Hospital. The Flat Creek watershed project workers were under a tree when the bolt struck and ran down the root to Kirchoff. Artificial respiration failed to revive him.
The annual Black Creek school reunion will be held Sunday July 1 at the Glenburn Community House, officers report. A basket dinner is at noon with a program in the afternoon. The note corrects an earlier incorrect date.

Funeral services for Reynold Figg age 50 who was electrocuted while working at the Shasta mine northwest of Bicknell will be held at 1:00 p m Sunday in the Shiloh church. The body returns from Newkirk Funeral Home in Dugger to the Bucktown residence for calling after 4:00 p m today. Burial will be in Woodward cemetery.
Mrs. Mahlon W. Gilbreath Jr of Linton fractured arm and her husband suffered facial cuts after their car struck water on state road 59 four miles southeast of Linton. The vehicle overturned and was heavily damaged. both treated by candlelight at Freeman Greene County Hospital. Mrs. Gilbreath dismissed with satisfactory condition.
Two fires sparked by separate lightning bolts struck in Linton last night. A bolt hit a tree near Gaylord Chipman’s residence and set ablaze Chipman Upholstering next to the home, damaging the shop corner and some materials. Another bolt struck Mrs Grace Pope’s home at 540 First Street Northeast, causing plaster damage later in the evening.
In Brazil the provincial village of Hardy Soul Papagios reports the death of Maria Da Silva at 150. She left 38 great grand children and 21 great great grandchildren.
