Dry law talk boosts Anti-Saloon League business
Indiana lawmaker Frank Wright says calls to modify prohibition to allow medicinal whiskey have surged League activity. He notes Sunday lectures at churches earn him about 20 dollars each, with typical collections rising from 30 to 40 dollars to over 100 during the agitation. Donors sign cards, and a Valparaiso envelope once carried a one dollar bill signed by a bootlegger, Wright says.
