Brother of Linton Woman Is Drowned
John Harper of Madison drowned in the Ohio river about 5 PM Thursday while painting a name on a boat in the stream. He is survived by sisters Mrs Wayne Hamilton of Linton and Ellen Bagley of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held in Madison Saturday afternoon.

New Castle Indiana reports a Henry County teen escaped death after his motorcycle crashed through a barbed wire fence. Fourteen Soldiers Die in Camp Campbell Truck Accident
Fourteen soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division were killed when a one and a half ton Army truck plunged 25 feet into Piney Ford Creek near the Kentucky Tennessee border during field training. Nine others were injured as helicopter removal and rescue efforts began. Pvt. Ronald J. Curtis survived with cuts and recalled survivors pulling trapped men above water. An investigation is under way as authorities assess causes and fatalities.
