A notice urges a dance at the Linton Canteen starting at 8 PM to raise items for Vietnam soldiers with admission of at least 25 cents. The event features a band donating services and support from the community for service members, reflecting wartime morale efforts.
A 15 year old testifies in Monroe Circuit Court that a Bloomington High School teacher Charles Walls offered marijuana in a classroom and accompanied him to the home of Mrs Myriam Champigny where they smoked together starting in May last year. The trial concerns charges against Champigny for possessing and dispensing marijuana.
The Linton City Council met Tuesday at 7 p.m. in council chambers. A contract with D and D Bituminous Inc. to resurface North Main Street for 5825 dollars was signed, with funds transfers approved and discussion of annexation and parking enforcement. The meeting adjourned at 7 55 p.m.
Pope Paul VI spent about 13 hours in Geneva meeting Protestant leaders and praising the World Council of Churches as a marvelous movement while stressing the Catholic Church will not join. He also spoke to the International Labour Organization about workers’ rights, hoping to boost Vatican Protestant relations and interchurch cooperation.

Apollo 10 crew Thomas Stafford John Young and Eugene Cernan returned to Cape Kennedy for a welcome back ceremony in a 10 000 strong crowd of moonport workers. The astronauts praised the ground crew and prepared for public appearances during a tour at the space center.

Cambodia announces it will re establish diplomatic ties with the United States with an exchange of charge d affaires. Prince Norodom Sihanouk says the move follows tensions from the Vietnam war era and the presence of Communist troops in Cambodia.

Two Nixon administration officials floated wage and price controls as a inflation tool but rejected implementing them. Observers expect the move to push Congress to extend the 10 percent income tax surcharge beyond June 30, while critics in Congress oppose controls. Sen. Vance Hartke criticized the idea, saying controls make as little sense as the surtax.

The Defense Department released the names of three Indiana servicemen who died in Vietnam. Army Pfc. Donald W. Bunn of Fort Wayne and Army Pfc. William T. Lynn of Princeton were killed in action. Army 1st Lt. Steven G. Schimmel of Terre Haute died from a cause other than combat.
