The Worthington group met at Mrs. Jessie Bucher's home with a Mother's Day meditation by Mrs. Louise McDermont. Devotions led by Mrs. Alta Mary McCoy emphasized update of work and ambitions. A Rest Haven donation of 90 dozen cookies was noted.
Barbara D. Wright and Johnny Dean Fish of Sullivan were united in marriage Saturday June 4. David P. Dixon Justice of the Peace officiated at the vows at his home. Inez Rusher and Tony Taft were the attendants.
After the dedication closed the meeting a social hour followed with refreshments served by the hostess to Mrs. Ruth Jean Mrs. Edith Biddle Mrs. Floy Heston Mrs. Fuller and Mrs. MecDermont.
Greene County clubs honor Mrs. Marshall Foster at a reception June 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Lawton Street Christian Church Jasonville. All Greene County Federated Club members and friends invited. The note mentions the Suez Canal cost at 100 million dollars.
A party in the Men's Dining Room at Rest Haven honored the birthdays of William Coleman Paul Niewald Frank Black and George Holden. Ice cream and cake were served to George Kennedy William Dill John Starkey Robert Armstrong Cravens Branon Eldon Fast Marvin Johnson Frank Kessner Walter Stockrabin Rudolph Vitosky Richard Wood and the honored guests Mrs Ruth Allen and Miss Amy Burrell ordered and arranged the event.
Mrs. Sharon Primm and Heather of Nashville Tennessee stayed with grandma Mrs. Mable Lucas. Many relatives and friends from Terre Haute Peru Indianapolis Scottsburg and Jasper visited or were hosted over the holiday weekend. A large group shared strawberry short cake and coffee at a hostess gathering with numerous attendees.
The Linton Church of the Nazarene announces a Bible School for children of all ages from June 14 to June 18, with classes each evening from 6 30 to 8 30. A Bible School program will be held on June 20 and all community children are invited to attend.
