Vacation Bible School Opens in Linton
The Linton Protestant churches sponsor a Daily Vacation Bible School that began Wednesday and runs until June 16. Kidnapped Baby Gerald McCrohan Found Safe

Seven Rooms Flooded as Roof Falls at New Hope Mine
A collapse in the New Hope mine of the Linton-Summit Coal Co trapped seven rooms and debris, injuring three men and leaving thirty five miners to escape. Superintendent Cunningham and Clyde Southern were treated at Freeman Greene County hospital, Cunningham with a scalp wound and Southern with possible rib fractures and further injuries. The explosion-like wind and dust filled the entry as 134 workers were present during the 10 00 o'clock accident.
