The Hill Expedition to View a Comet
Nine residents ride a buckboard to a hilltop to glimpse a comet and a fire erupts in the village as the town debates the omen. Lem Gott origins set the scene while Jay and Benjamin prepare the ascent and shelter, with Ada Lily Poindexter and others observing the sky. The fire is mistaken for a comet as the episode ends with the American House burning.
