Military Police Disciplined For Desertion Shooting Incident
In Indianapolis two military policemen are in the process of being disciplined after shooting at AWOL deserter Kenneth Connell in a residential area. A bullet narrowly missed Helen March and a street-number plate was damaged. Connell fled in a car with a trailer after MPs stopped him near a parking lot following a tip. Major Hughes A. Carnes said MPs were instructed never to shoot in such circumstances.
