Jasonville Man Killed in Clay County Accident
Samuel Carson Green, 75, of Jasonville, died at 6:15 p.m. after a two car crash at a county road intersection south east of Clay City. His stepson Royce Harmon 56 drove the first car. John Staley 27 of Coal City drove the other. Green was a retired coal miner and Jasonville Eagles member. Services will be held in Corbin Kentucky with his body moved from Jasonville. Fifteen Indiana highway deaths over the weekend raise the 1967 toll to at least 729 with Marion County and Switzerland County experiencing multiple fatalities.

In Berryda le Florida 37 inmates died when convicts set fire to wooden barracks at a remote prison camp Sunday night. Only 14 escapes occurred with six severely burned as guards found most bodies in the shower room, by the door, and near barred windows. prison director Louie Wainwright called the blaze sudden and extensive.

Dugger Boy Dies In Gun Accident
Harris Lee Flath a 17 year old Dugger resident died after a hunting accident at the George Goodman farm in Carlisle township Sullivan County. The 32 caliber rifle discharged while removing a clip wounding him in the cheek. He was taken to Mary Sherman hospital and died shortly after arrival. The incident was ruled accidental by Sheriff Roseberry and investigators. He was a Dugger Union High School senior elect and survived by his parents Herman and Agnes Flath twin brother Herman, two sisters and a grandmother. Funeral services are set for Newkirk Funeral Home at Dugger.
