Ambulance Collision Injures Five In Terre Haute

An ambulance on an emergency run and two cars collided at a city intersection Tuesday night in Terre Haute injuring five. The ambulance driver Fred Ball 20 and Brenda Simmons 9 months old were among the injured. Simmons was riding with her father Donald 22 in a car that struck the ambulance causing it to overturn and slide into a stopped vehicle.

Indiana report says Walkerton board member Clyde Waltz, stockholder in Walkerton Ford Sales, Inc., caused town to award 1339 in business for fuel oil and service. Board clerk Wayne Cover issued the checks. State examiner calls it an open and shut violation and notes prior infractions.

Evansville police stopped a Kroger market robbery as two men fled. John G. S. Boyce 7 Portland Ore shot himself at a roadblock near Rockport after police trapped him. His partner Robert Dane Finton 27 Chicago was captured in Lawrenceville Illinois with about $1500 and a gun. Finton abducted Mrs Charles Omar and forced her to drive him to Princeton before fleeing to Mount Carmel and Lawrenceville.
