Two 17 year olds appeared this week in Stockton Township Justice of the Peace Court Eviet Meurer. David R. Moore of Linton was fined 21 dollars for illegal transportation of liquor and Douglas E. Miller of Switz City was fined 21 dollars for transporting alcoholic beverages while not under a parent or guardian.

A native employed by the U S Embassy killed Burundi Premier Pierre Ngendandumwe as he left a hospital after his wife delivered a baby. The alleged assassin, Gonzalve Muyinzi, 30, was captured days later hiding in an empty oil drum behind his home in Le Belge. Police linked the murder to pro Communist actors amid regional tensions and a broader political realignment.
The House general education sub committee led by Rep. Carl Perkins will start hearings next week on President Johnsons 1.5 billion education program. Committee Chairman Adam Clayton Powell said Perkins is authorized to begin Jan 22 with a target date Feb 15 for subcommittee recommendations to the full committee.
