Burns Take Life Of Dugger Woman Rites Arranged
Mrs. Lizzie Smith 74 of Dugger died at 12 55 am Tuesday in a hospital in Indianapolis from burns received December 22 at her home when her clothing caught fire while burning papers in a stove. She lived alone and was burned about 25 percent of her body. Born August 22 1880 at Elnora she moved to Dugger in 1917 with her husband Leonard Smith who died in 1944. Surviving are three daughters and three sons, 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Funeral services Friday at the Dugger Church of Christ with burial in Dugger cemetery.

Dr Richard A Sheppard 65 head of a Bay View Hospital founded after WWII died of pleurisy in Bay View Hospital. His death came within a month of his son Dr Samuel Sheppard's second degree murder conviction and after his wife died by her own hand. He died Tuesday night in Cleveland.
