Flames Damage School Building in West Linton
Firefighters from Linton saved the College Hill school building after a spark hit the shingle roof. Using foam, they smothered the blaze while others fought from the attic and ground. The two story frame building suffered minor damage and classes continued. the site was condemned earlier and will be abandoned for a new consolidated elementary school in 1956 57.

Two Gunmen rob Stop and Shop in Indianapolis
In Indianapolis Stop and Shop a supermarket was robbed Sunday night by two gunmen with stocking masks who took 3500 dollars from the office and then locked Earl Willoughby and his wife Mary in a 38 degree dairy cooler for nine hours. Store manager William Risch freed them when he opened the store this morning.
