Yaquina Club Hostess entertain Nine Members and Guest

The Yaquina club was entertained at the home of Mrs. Cleve Mitchell Friday afternoon with nine members and one guest, Mrs. Glenn Helms, present. The usual business session was held in charge of the president after which games and contests were enjoyed. Bingo prizes were awarded to Mrs James Berl Morrison, Glenn Helms, Fannie Eskew, Joe Saushohn Booher and Phil Bennett. Mrs Cleve Mitchell won the club prize. The club will meet again in two weeks with Mrs Berl Morrison as hostess.

Winston Murdock Weds Dorothy Workman in Local Church Ceremony

Announcement of the marriage of Dorothy Workman daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Burdsall of Lyons to Winston Murdock son of Mr and Mrs John Murdock of this city. The quiet ceremony took place Sunday evening February 28 at the Church of Christ with Rev G C Vincent officiating. The bride is Jyons high school class of 1929 graduate and the groom is a 1928 local high school graduate employed by Linton Milk. They plan to reside in this city.

Loyal Helpers Class of Lyons Is Isntretained

The Loyal Helpers class of Lyons Christian church met at Mrs. Faye Holder’s home. They opened with singing and the Lord’s Prayer. They decided to serve lunch during March’s sectional basketball tournament and heard a program led by Mrs. Iva Perkins followed by refreshments for listed attendees. The next meeting will be at Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards’s home in Lyons.

Miss Ina Brewer Hosts W A W Club Event

Miss Ina Brewer acted as hostess for the W A W club at Dr and Mrs E V Bull’s home on East Vincennes street. A business session planned the twelfth anniversary celebration at Mrs Lou Fleetwood’s home on March 14 with committees named. Bridge games followed with high scores to Miss Mother Duhne and Mrs Charles Fulkerson and low to Mrs Joe Thompson amid sweet pea decor and refreshments.

Fancywork Circle Observes Anniversary

The Ladies Fancywork circle celebrated its 24th anniversary at Mrs. P. O. Turpin's home with co host William Johnson. All but three members attended a luncheon featuring tomato au gratin and other dishes. The afternoon included oral and written contests among attendees.

Collegiate opens at Grand with Langford in lead

The Collegiate program at the Grand tomorrow afternoon features Joe Penner Jack Oakie Ned Sparks Lynne Overman and about 150 beautiful girls. Frances Langford has an important role and sings in her own lovely way. The film centers on the charm school idea with Oakie as the college president and Langford as dean, plus a Metrotone News and a Charley Chase comedy.

Fires on an electric iron injure Mrs. Ransom at Jasonville

In Jasonville Indiana on February 20 Mrs. Joe Ransom sustained painful burns to her hand as the cord of an electric iron caught fire while she tried to smother the blaze. The incident interrupted a quiet morning at home and prompted immediate care.

Former resident Warren Breeden ill in Bloomington tied to city

Warren Breeden of Bloomington, formerly of this city, is reported seriously ill at his home and will enter the Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis soon for treatment. His wife Elis will accompany him and care for him. Mr Bucederi is a brother of Mrs Frank Neill, currently at her brother's bedside. only immediate relatives may visit.

Garriott Child Dies and Local News Notes

Mary Suzanne Garriott died at 9 15 p m Wednesday five days old. Surviving are the parents and the grandparents from the city and Milnes. Funeral was at two oclock Thursday at the Gamron residence with burial in Lebanon. Joe Russell injured at work in Peabody No 48 mine. Indiana to Plan Eighth Annual Air Tour

In Indianapolis on February 29 plans for the eighth annual Indiana air tour were advanced by the Indiana Aircraft Trade Association. About fifty airplanes join the yearly tour visiting over twenty Indiana cities. Frank Ball of Muncie chaired talks on aeronautics legislation slated for a likely state legislature special session. Major Charles Cox, Jr., regional airport advisor for the U S Bureau of Air Commerce, described proposals for a state aeronautics commission and WPA airport and air-making program developments in Indiana.
