NAACP Official Slain In Bomb Attack In Mississippi
Charlest Jackson, 37, treasurer of the Natl Assoc for the Advancement of Colored People local NAACP unit, was killed when a bomb shattered his pickup in Natchez Mississippi. Authorities say he died when the blast wrecked his truck and hit a utility pole after leaving a tire plant about 15 minutes earlier.
