Forty six Republicans and thirteen Democrats supported the measure, despite opposition from thirty Republicans and seven Democrats. The bill clears the house calendar, paving way for the five million dollar biennial budget bill and avoiding extended debate on the armory probe report.
United Press dispatch from Paris reports Marshal Ferdin Foch showing progress in illness. An official bulletin notes a slight improvement in lung condition, temperature 98.96 Fahrenheit, pulse 86. He had a better night and temperature dropped about two degrees. Doctors, anxious about uraemic crisis, gathered at bedside after night.

Gary Ind Feb 27 forced to land because of motor trouble Chicago bound air mail pilot used School avenue in Hammond as an emergency field. Edward Hill said he blew a valve while over Gary but glided over thick brush to the broad pavement. The mail was carried to the Hammond post office. The plane was not damaged.
D C Stephenson's former wife Nettie Krehm says he was railroaded to prison for the Madge Oberholtzer murder and would aid in obtaining freedom. Lawyer Felix Blankenbaker quotes her letter praising her daughter Kathleen and reporting forgiveness and sympathy for Steve.
Colonel Charles Lindbergh and his fiancee Miss Anne Spencer Morrow departed Valbuena Field at 11 45 a m EST for a plane jaunt toward the mountains north of Mexico City. The route points included Bo Pocateptl and Ixtaccuihuatl, described as twin volcanoes near the city.
Chicago Aldermanic elections left Mayor Big Bill Thompson not wiped out. Reformers hoped for his ouster but results show he will retain enough sympathetic aldermen to control the city council to the end of his 1931 term, pending runoffs on April 7.

President and Mrs. Coolidge will depart Washington for Northampton Mass. directly after the Capitol ceremony, skipping the White House luncheon and parade review. He seeks to avoid pomp and return to his old home as soon as possible, while lamenting the end of personal friendships as his term ends.
A Lawrence Orr tabulation shows Indiana lawmakers consider six senate bills and five house bills with salary boosts totaling $264,400. Also proposed is a 100 percent county coroner fee hike and $5 daily for inquest clerks, plus various court and county administrator raises across Marion and other counties.
United Press dispatch from Bedford Indiana reports witnesses testified in the Atlee Osborne murder trial. Osborne 32 is charged with second degree murder of Sylvan Moore 27, allegedly killed when Moore returned home and found Osborne with Moore’s wife. Witness William King said he saw Osborne strike Moore on a concrete sidewalk and tried to intervene before Osborne ordered him away.
Widespread thaw loosens thousands of tons of ice leading to damage to electrical lines and waterways. Reports indicate dynamite used to break up flows across a wide territory and casualties totaling around 38 lives.
