Veteran Miner Arthur Gerin Ends Life in Linton Home
Arthur Gerin a 72 year old Belgian born in Charleroi ended his life at his Sixth Street Southeast home after a period of illness and despondency. Edward Lifford 29 pleaded guilty to burglary at the Asher Page store in Greene County. Judge J Raymond Powell gave two to five years in the Indiana State Reformatory and disfranchisement for three years. Brothers Glenn 13 and Ray 21 pled guilty to a Willy Service Station hold up in Worthington with $25 taken. Each got 15 years and five year disfranchisement. they admitted three Greene County holdups plus crimes in Clay and Sullivan counties. Oliver and Wilbur Critchfield, 23 and 21, are jailed and to be arraigned separately.
