Funds For Headstart Are Received
The Greene County Headstart program has secured funds to continue through the school year. Dennie Bays, chair of the Daviess Greene Martin county Community Action Committee, reported at the Greene County Community Development Committee meeting at Klusmeier's on February 19. Rev. J. C. Chinnock announced a new body, Tri County Parents and Friends for Headstart, seeking HEW funds as OEQ transfers the program. Three Arrested After One Car Wreck Near Linton
A 1:05 a.m. one car crash at highway junctions 54 and 39 north of Linton sent three young men to Greene County Hospital for minor injuries. Wayne Hasler 18 driving a 1964 car owned by Russell Gilstrap 19 of Lyons and two passengers David Gilstrap 19 and Freddie Jerrell 22 were arrested for DUI and illegal possession of alcohol. Jerrell for furnishing alcohol to minors. Linton Police assisted and Greene County Rescue was called.
