Hoosier Couple Hurt In Motel Blast In Alabama
A Wabash Indiana couple, Mylan Carr age 44 and his wife 41, suffered serious burns when an explosion ripped through five motel rooms in Oneonta Alabama. Four other people were injured, linked to a gas buildup blamed for the blast. the motel had switched to electric heat and gas lines were plugged beneath the floor.

Two Fire Alarms Reported in Linton Area
Linton Fire Department answered two alarms Thursday afternoon with no damage. At 3 15 p.m. firefighters fought a brush fire near Cecil Hoffeditz residence on State Road 59 about three and a half miles northwest of Linton. At 5 15 p.m. firefighters responded to J C DeVault home 389 North Main Street where a loose gas range connection allowed gas to burn near the stove pilot light. The line was tightened and no damage occurred.
