Examiners Report Shortage At LaPorte Justice Precinct
The State Board of Accounts reports a 32104 50 shortage in the records of LaPorte County Justice Billy Kemper. Chief examiner Robert A. Wickersham said the board will certify the case to a grand jury. Most discrepancies stemmed from traffic fine remittances not turned over to county and state. The audit covered July 1 1958 to Oct 31 1955, showing Kemper’s business at 77284 with earnings totaling 21571 over two years.

Missing Hoosier Woman Returns Unharmed
Pauline T. Hacker, 32, an Indianapolis housewife, who vanished after her new car was found abandoned with smashed windows and bloodstains, returned home unharmed after police searched the area. Greene county coroner Delmar Hasler ruled Clyde Bucher s death an accident after a tractor overturn at 11 30 am on state road 58 near the Bloomington gate to the U S Naval Ammunition depot. Bucher 50 of Taylor township farmed and worked nine months for Greene County Highway Department. He is survived by widow Ruth Summerville Bucher, five daughters, two sisters and four brothers.
