Mrs Ina A Cardwell Clayton wife of Charles W Clayton of Linton died in Freeman Greene county hospital at 4 am from anemia after a four week illness She was born May 6 1895 in Sumner County Tennessee and moved to Linton 34 years ago Surviving are her husband two brothers three sisters and other relatives Funeral services for Mrs Clayton will be held Friday at 2 pm from the home of Mr and Mrs Joel White with Rev Guy H Ramsey in charge Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Linton health officials plan to immunize 100 grade school and pre school children against diphtheria this Friday. Dr. W F Craft says a check-up Tuesday guided the schedule at Central school Northwest Ward Northeast Ward St Peters school with a $1 fee for serum and services. Parents must bring written consent. Immunity develops months after treatment, officials say.
San Francisco reports bathtubs and slippery floors caused 211 deaths last year, surpassing 156 linked to motor cars. Most victims were over 50, per 1937 Geiger health report.
Philadelphia faced a record year for housing demolition in 1937. The Philadelphia Housing Association reports 3,121 families or 13,559 people displaced and 12 million dollars in assessed value of the demolished structures.

Estel Roach brother of Marvin Roach, 30, ex convict, is held for questioning by Indianapolis police after attempting to claim a car tied to Mrs Dorothy Weller. Police link Marvin Roach to robberies in Linton Greene County and Indianapolis with Harold Weller's arrest fueling the case. Authorities believe Welder and Roach were involved with Veller in robberies as a fog disrupted initial captures.
The public is invited to a benefit party at 8 o'clock Thursday night in St. Peter's Church. Proceeds support unspecified cause and community members expected to attend.

The Indiana High School Athletic Association ruled three Muncie Burris players ineligible for allegedly being lured from their hometown schools. All Burris games they played in were forfeited and the school received probation until January 1, 1939.

Mrs. Emmett Dugan of Center Point was admitted last evening for a major operation this morning. Louise Peltier, eight years old, daughter of Emil Peltier of Linton rural route, was admitted and underwent an appendectomy this morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Baughman observed their Golden wedding anniversary at home of their daughter Mrs. Harris Wilkie in Terre Haute area. Guests included family members from Switz City Linton Lonetree and Richmond with many gifts and flowers. The couple married February 13 1888 in Indianapolis and moved to Linton 48 years ago. They have three children Ione Strauser Clifford Baughman and Cleo Wilkie.
Linton Eagles lodge to hold regular meeting tonight to arrange a district gathering in Linton on February 23. Lodges from Bedford, Bicknell, Washington, Vincennes, Brazil, Jasonville, Bloomfield and Terre Haute expected to send delegations. Dr. Fred C. Dilley will speak.
John Wayne Elkins of Pontiac Michigan was in Linton for a few days. He came after his wife was rushed to Freeman Greene county hospital for an emergency operation Tuesday evening.
