Junior High Hoop Battle Ends With Dugger Defeat

The Dugger junior high team fell 21 to 18 to a visiting rival in a tight basketball game. Players from both sides showcased effort and defense, with the outcome decided in the final minutes.

Death of Eugene Huffman at Freeman City Hospital

Eugene FE Huffman aged 12 years 4 months 2 days son of Mr and Mrs Fred Huffman who live one mile north of the city died of flu and pneumonia at Freeman City hospital at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Survived by parents and siblings Fred Jr and Mary Jewell. He attended Black Creek School in the seventh year. Funeral services with Rev I J Kranz at the family home tomorrow at 2 pm and interment in Fairview.

Prominent Sandborn Woman Dies After Weeklong Illness

Jennie Cain 38 beloved resident of Sandborn passed away at 4 30 am at her home east of town after a seven day illness. She was born Jennie Blackwood in May 1890 near Morea and lived nearby all her life. Survived by husband Scott Cain two children Mary Elizabeth and Scott Hunter mother Elizabeth Blackwood two brothers John and Walter two sisters Nora Harvey and Grant Clell Byrn a Florida stepdaughter C W Gould and many relatives. Funeral plans awaited arrival of distant relatives. she will be remembered in Linton as Miss Jennie Blackwood.
