Peter James Bailey 77, a longtime Linton resident, died at Freeman-Greene County Hospital after two years of illness. Born February 1 1884 in Solsberry, he was a retired coal miner and farmer, worked 33 years in coal mining, and belonged to Church of God Sharkey and United Mine Workers Local 7623. Survived by widow Flossie M Sullivan Bailey, son Lester E Bailey, daughter Anna Bell Magner, two half siblings, two grandchildren. Funeral at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.
