Seven Injured In State Wreck In Indiana
Seven people were injured when a Greyhound bus hit a wrecker trying to pull another bus from a ditch on icy Ind. 44 near Connersville. Driver Irvin Wright 32 of Harrison Ohio and six others suffered noncritical injuries. The two buses were on a Chicago to Cincinnati run. the first slipped into the ditch on an icy stretch.

Carl Porter, a wrecking truck driver, was killed when a car collided with his wrecker after a motorist became blinded by the wrecker lights on Indiana 337 south of Elwood. Sylvester Decesarez of Indianapolis was involved in the crash that pinned Porter between the two vehicles, state police reported.

Peru Fertilizer Plant Destroyed in $500,000 Fire
The D and K Fertilizer plant in west Peru was destroyed by a blaze that caused about $500,000 in losses. The fire consumed the building 20 carloads of fertilizer two 10 000 gallon tanks of ammonia and machinery. Fire chief Glenn Jenkins and firefighter Lowell Berryman received ammonia burns. Water supply was limited with the hydrant half a mile away and water had to be drawn from a nearby gravel pit. Cause of the fire was not established.
