Lyons Soldier Wounded in France
Pfc. Billy G. Wells of Lyons has been wounded in action and is hospitalized in France. A Lyons High School graduate of 1943 he entered service in 1943 and trained at Camp Wolters Texas. He was sent overseas in 1944 after prior duty in England and France and was wounded in Belgium on February 12. He is the son of Mrs. Bonnie Wells of Lyons.

Morgenthau Urges Postwar Tax Policy to Boost Economy

Claude Story of Lyons reports his brother Rev R K Story his sister in law Rachel Story and nephew and niece David nine and Martha Jean five are safe. The Pilgrim Holiness Church mission aries were interned at San Tonas University Internment Camp near Manila since 1942. One daughter about sixteen died during captivity. Contacted last year by prisoners returning on the Gripsholm. Rev Story’s mother Mrs Everett Alkire also lives in Lyons.
