Utica Apartment Fire Leaves Five Dead In Ruins
In Utica New York a three story frame apartment house burned before dawn trapping 25 residents. Firemen recovered five bodies including a young mother with a year old child. Fourteen escaped with burns, one critical. Police and doctors searched the rubble for the 11 missing as oil from an alleged burner fueled the blaze. The building collapsed and a wall was propped by a telephone pole.
