Two Get Injuries Near Bloomfield
Two Indiana University employees en route to Bloomfield were injured Monday evening when their car went out of control and hit the Richland Creek bridge on state road 54 one mile east of Bloomfield. Frank Martindale 52 of Bloomfield route four suffers possible fractured ribs and minor cuts while Mrs. Charles Floyd 31 of Bloomington route six has severe facial and scalp lacerations along with bruises and shock both listed in satisfactory condition. Deputy Sheriff Harry Wade investigated stating the crash occurred at 6:00 pm after the car skidded about seventy five feet before striking the north abutment then bending the steel lattice work and leaving a wheel hanging over the bridge.

Robert Baker 26 and his wife Trudy Jo 17 faced a decisive day over extradition to Illinois to face charges in the killing of Larry Michael Kirk 21 of Winslow Indiana. Mrs Baker admitted they shot Kirk while he slept in their car near Salem Oregon on December 26 during a Christmas holiday hitchhike.
