Police chased him from A Street to the Triangle before stopping him and detaining him in jail.
Jack Fitzpatrick of this city was fined 25 dollars and costs by Justice William L. Jackson on a guilty plea to beating a board bill filed by Charles Barnett. After sentencing he chose to serve the sentence in Greene county jail in Bloomfield.

Mrs Jane Good 86 a Greene county pioneer died at 9 30 Sunday morning at her home northwest of Sandborn She was born Sept 12 1853 daughter of Peter and Mary Carroll She lived on the same farm since her 1877 marriage to John Good who preceded her in death 44 years ago Survived by three children Joan Spencer Albert L Good Roy Good five sisters and four grandchildren Funeral services set for 1 50 Tuesday at Bethel Baptist church with Rev J N A Downey officiating burial in Bethel cemetery Newkirk Funeral home of Pleasantville in charge
Harry Chaney of Sandborn was arraigned in Bloomfield on a charge of child neglect. He was fined one dollar and costs after being arrested Saturday and jailed in Greene County. The charge, non support of his three and a half year old daughter Farylan Louise, was brought by his ex wife Maxine Chaney of Linton. the couple is divorced.
Funeral services for Martin Snyder former resident of Linton who died in Indianapolis were held in that city this afternoon. He was a brother in law of Will and Mrs Harrah of Linton and Mrs Harrah traveled to Indianapolis to attend.
Mrs Lourena Mees of 340 Third Street Northwest is reported seriously ill and was taken to Freeman Greene County Hospital for treatment Sunday afternoon.
Russell Jewell of Worthington was sent to the Pendleton Reformatory by Parole Agent McCafferty after a burglary conviction at the Royal Palms cafe. He confessed to robbing the Worthington case and passing a fraudulent $15 check to a Linton merchant signed by Wayne Arthur. A 98 cent sweater was bought with the check. He was already out on parole and was returned after his parole was revoked following the confession.
Australian and New Zealand troops arrived in Suez Egypt after an 8 000 mile voyage to be greeted by frenzied cheers from the city. The hard bitten men from down under travel to reinforce forces amid the tense regional situation.

Amos Gillett of the K of P building Linton was also dismissed Sunday afternoon. He had been treated for burns from a powder explosion at the Little Betty mine near Dugger.

George Caldwell former LSU construction superintendent pleaded guilty to mail fraud charges. Judge Wayne G. Borah sentenced him to two years in prison and a $1000 fine on one indictment with sentences running concurrently on seven pleas. Caldwell also was assessed court costs.
