Jesse V. Finney of Wheatfield, 67, was killed when his pickup ran a stop sign and struck a car driven by Oralee Joseph, 19, of Wheatfield, at a county road intersection near here. Joseph was injured and treated at the scene.

Death verdict in Owensburg shooting case reported

Ellis Harley Hudson 43 of Owensburg died from a self inflicted gunshot wound using an old model automatic shotgun. His body found Monday morning by stepson Marvin Lee Roberts. death believed to have occurred Saturday night or Sunday morning. Probate details include divorce action, and survivors listed. Musicians Earn Superior Ratings In District Contest

Linton-Stockton band members earned four superior, 13 excellent and three good ratings at the Indiana University Bloomington district solo and ensemble contest. Those earning superior will advance to the state contest at Butler University later this month. Five Fort Walton Beach children found after near freezing search

Five children aged 9 to 12 missing since Monday in Okaloosa County were located in a wooded area behind a Fort Walton Beach home. A 1,000-person search and about 400 volunteers scoured beaches and bayous in rain and sleet. They were brought to Eglin Air Force Base hospital for checks and were said to be chilled but well.
