J. R. Pigg of Linton route one paid 5 dollars plus costs totaling 20 75 after pleading guilty to failing to yield the right of way. The case was heard by W. F. Laughlin, justice of the peace in Linton. The charge stemmed from a truck auto collision last Tuesday on state road 59 near Midkand.

Newberry Man Unhurt in Railroad Crash at Crossing
Earl Talley of Newberry escaped serious injury when an Illinois Central freight engine struck his southbound truck at the State Road 57 crossing between Bloomfield and Switz City. The truck carried coal and was pushed fifty feet along the right of way. Talley received a minor rib injury and was taken to Newberry after hitching a ride in a passing car. Police filed charges of disregarding an automatic railroad signal.
