Clay City narrowly edged in through tough clash
Vic tory Mortout High School retained the Wabash valley basketball title with a thirteenth straight win over Clay City. Gerald Landis led Wabash valley champions as Pipes and Weller sparked the attack. Clay City missed Rupert and Eddy due to suspensions and even the Linton seconds defeated Clay City’s reserves. Final moments saw two Valley field goals clinch the win with four lead changes.

Twin Babies Buried by Sandborn Residents
In Sandborn on Monday afternoon the twin daughters of Mr and Mrs David Small of Dugger were buried at Marco cemetery. The infants were born Sunday morning and lived until Sunday afternoon. The Small family, with three other children, had recently relocated from the countryside northeast of Sandborn to Dugger where Mr Small teaches in the Dugger school.

Miner gravely hurt by fall of large rock near Farmersburg
At Green Hill mile five miles southeast of Farmersburg Marion Goble 85 was crushed by a rock more than ten feet long while at work. Rushed to Union hospital in Farmersburg the man suffered broken bone severe internal injuries and serious cuts. Twin brother Daniel Goble witnessed the incident. Several men helped remove the rock before medical aid arrived.

Waggoner faces liquor charge over pumping station find
Sherman Waggoner, in charge of Shoals water works pumping station, faces preliminary trial for illegal liquor possession after liquor was found at the station. Waggoner says he had no knowledge of how the liquor came to be stored there. The case began after a deputy found three men at the rear of the station and a jug of wine was offered to drink. Investigators followed by a search this morning.
Four Civil War Vets Remain From Company
