Seven Are Injured In Four Accidents In Greene County
State Police report seven people injured last weekend in four incidents in Greene County. Two Crane Navy sailors, Thomas Beek and Wilbrod Menard, were seriously hurt in a crash at the junction of State Roads 54 and 57. Other victims include Miss Nila Rose White and Miss Verda Baines of Bloomfield, Miss Nancy Hosteter, Miss Marsha Greene, Jerry R. Cates of Evansville, and Bern ard White of Coal City. Road conditions were slick from freezing rain.

Two Brothers Hurt as Dunning Killed in Linton Shooting
In Linton a Sunday affray left Fred Dunning dead and brothers Herbert and Carl Walton wounded. Carl was charged with manslaughter as witnesses described a confrontation at the Mitchell home on Third Street Southwest. Dunning died at Freeman-Greene hospital after injuries from a pistol and shotgun exchange.

Youth Saves Four Teenagers in Wreck in Gary Ind
Four teenagers escaped a fiery crash when 19 year old Lawrence Cole from Hammond pulled them from the wreck on icy pavement. Rescued were Joan Kirk 18 Raymond Van Gorp 18 Melvin Ward 19 and Josephine Vojada 18 all from nearby towns. Kirk remained in poor condition with a broken back at Methodist Hospital Gary.
