S Sponsler prominent Lin ton coal operator and pioneer with Island Valley Coal died at 3 20 this morning at 689 North Main Street after a three year illness. He helped organize Island Valley Coal company and later farmed before moving to Winfield to reside with his daughter Verna. He belonged to First M E Church and Metropolitan Lodge Knights of Pythias. Funeral 2 30 Wednesday at his home, Rev C E Haley officiating. Interment Fairview Cemetery.
