Body of Indiana tax officer found in hotel room
Coroner continues inquiry into the death of E A Dilts age about 46 a field auditor for the Indiana Gross Income Tax Division. Dilts was found in his Hotel Roosevelt room in Indianapolis by hotel staff and later died apparently of a heart attack. His body was returned to Indianapolis for funeral services to be held later in the week. Coroner Porter noted Dilts appeared to have prepared to wash before collapsing.

A judgment against Ernest Clensey and wife was settled with a quit claim deed on Bloomfield property and a farm mortgage in Jackson township. Walter Corbin exempt from 1935 poll tax due 1936. All bids for selling a one story frame building north of Freeman-Greene County Hospital in Linton were rejected as too low. highest bid 76 dollars. The board authorized Highway Supt Henry Schloot to acquire a 40 foot wide land strip at Dixon corner in Fairplay township from Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance for 20 dollars. The gravel road between sections 31 and 8 for Sherwood Templeton Coal Co was repaired fully and the company released from liability and bond cancelled. The board awarded contract.

Council rejects PWA water tank grant in favor of hospital plan
Linton City Council on Tuesday night voted 3 to 2 to reject a Public Works Administration grant for a water tank and tower. The panel instead asked the state PWA office to permit waiving the waterworks grant in favor of a hospital project adding 12,000 more to the estimate.
