Linton School to Borrow 179 500 for Short Term Cash Needs

French troops free children after Djibouti bus hijack attack

Maxam Announces Candidacy for 39th District State Senate
Indiana State University political science professor William P. Maxam announced Tuesday his bid for the Republican nomination to represent the 39th District. The district includes Clay County and parts of Vigo Greene Owen Putnam and Sullivan Counties. He cites years in Republican party and government service at federal state and local levels and notes Army service 1956 to 1963. He is a United Methodist lay speaker and has consulted for the Council of State Governments and the Association of Indiana Counties. He also holds a real estate brokers license.

Drug raid at IU dorms nets 72 warrants
Bloomington Indiana police rounded up 72 persons named in warrants after a 13 month undercover probe. Most targets were IU students and 85 officers from state county and campus units participated in raids at dormitories. Drugs seized included marijuana hashish LSD cocaine and pills.
