Albert Archie Watson age 49 of Franklin died suddenly at a sawmill job on Thursday after suffering a heart attack. He was born in Solsberry on October 23 1895 and was survived by siblings including Mrs Harold Hunter and Mrs Gladys Eaton. Funeral services are set for Sunday at Solsberry Methodist Church with burial in Solsberry Cemetery.

Greene county representative William Herring co authors a bill to change election rules by banning independents from ballots if they were primary party candidates. The measure targets candidates who lose in party primaries and run as independents in cities like Linton Vincennes and Princeton Indiana.

Chester Howard, 60, of Linton, is hospitalized with fractures to both legs after being struck Thursday on Price road in West Linton. Police say Dihone Price, Lyons route one, driving west, was blinded by a parked car’s lights and could not avoid him. Howard was taken to a local physician and then to Freeman-Greene County Hospital as X rays showed both legs broken below the knee. Police exonerated Price.
Charley Thomas, a Switz City resident for fifty years, was found dead at his home at 6:45 am. Coroner Delmar Hasler ruled death from a heart attack after an inquest. He was born March 6, 1875, a retired farmer, widower, with a California step-daughter and sister in Terre Haute. Body taken to Rentschler Funeral Home, Centerpoint. funeral arrangements pending.
Linton ministers and their families gather for a covered dish luncheon at 11 45 in the morning at the First Christian church. A business meeting follows the meal and all ministers and their families are invited to attend.

INDIANAPOLIS IP A bill banning indecent comic books passed the Indiana Senate by a 47 to 1 vote. It would empower police and county prosecutors to censor books and penalize wholesalers who distribute any deemed indecent. Senator Eugene Bainbridge said 17 Lake County women’s clubs back the measure. The Senate also urged repeal of the two cents per gallon federal gasoline tax.

Miss Caroline McKinnon daughter of Mr and Mrs Herman McKinnon has returned to her home from Riley hospital in Indianapolis where she had been a patient for the past month.
