John A. Bland aged 74 died at his sister Mrs Ava Stamfield home in Attica after years of ill health. A Bloomfield native who worked as a car dealer in Des Moines and at Linton motor firms he was a Span ish American War veteran and Elks member. He survived by his sister and other relatives with funeral 3 30 pm Thursday at his sister's home and burial in Attica cemetery.

Former Terre Haute Union Official Held on Embezzlement Charge
Cecil May 52 of Houston Texas was held today on a charge of embezzling 949 dollars from an AFL Brick and Clay Workers Union Local 588 where he once served as secretary treasurer. The fund shortage was found last July after his term as officer expired and a warrant was prepared last October. May was arrested upon return from Houston.
