Seven Firemen Trapped in Ruins of Syracuse Warehouse
In Syracuse New York on February 3 rescue crews hunted seven firefighters buried in the smouldering four story warehouse. Fire officials abandoned hope of saving any. The blaze started in the Ada Keep restaurant area and spread quickly prompting a full alarm. Officials estimate losses near 100000 dollars as walls began to crumble around the fire line.

John Vaughn 73 Dies in Bloomington After Illness
John H. Vaughn 73 a former Linton resident died at 4 30 this morning at his Bloomington home after a two year illness. He was a retired painter and contractor and was survived by his wife Sally and two sons William and Darrell plus a daughter in Bloomington. He is also survived by a sister and seven grandchildren. The body is at Weir funeral home Bloomington and funeral is set for Sunday at 2 00 pm at the Bloomington Baptist church with burial in Valhalla cemetery and Red Men lodge members to assist at the graveside.

Women Injured When Wheel Comes Off Car Near Sullivan
Miss Elsie Sisk and Mrs. Dorothy Easton of Sullivan suffered minor cuts and bruises in a collision two miles east of Linton after a wheel came off their car on state road 54 near Winters hill. J. E. Johns driving a grocery truck saw the wheel detach and pulled aside as the Eaton car struck his semi trailer, then was uninjured. The Easton vehicle was demolished and both women were treated by a local physician.
