Paul Titus of Linton and Thelma McPhael of Dugger filed an application for a marriage license in the Greene Circuit Court clerk's office, Bloomfield, under clerk Claude Story.
Cape Kennedy Florida workers return to the Apollo moonport ending a three day walkout that idled 200 million in space construction. A Brevard Building and Trades Council coordinator said about 90 percent of the 4300 workers would be back by Wednesday as 18000 union members ended the strike after a presidential commission agreed to review grievances. The dispute centered on a contract with Marion Power Shovel Co about steelworkers from Ohio and who should perform the job for an $8 million crawler for Saturn V rockets. The commission will hear six other grievances considered serious by the unions.
Washington reports no serious Asian flu outbreak despite an epidemic of executive flu. Public Health Service notes genuine Asian flu incidence is below last year's light outbreak. McNamara admits virus pneumonia, Rusk misses Senate appearance. both ill but no signs the capital’s cold is Asian flu.
INDIANAPOLIS -1Upi- A bill by Sen. Dewey Annakin proposes finishing school reorganization by end of 1966. It would cut state funds and tax levies to push counties to reorganize, dissolve unorganized corporations under 750 pupils or 5,000 valuation per pupil, and shift duties from the commission to the Department of Public Instruction. A Wednesday hearing by the Senate Education Committee will review the plan.

Denald Lee Gusler II, 22, of Norfolk Virginia, appeared in Greene County Circuit Court and changed his plea from innocent to guilty on carrying a pistol without a permit. He withdrew his extradition refusal to Kentucky where burglary charges await. Judge Edwin B. Long ordered a presentence investigation on the pistol charge.
Moscow reports the Soviet Union successfully launched a new rocket carrier for space objects over the Pacific Ocean, exceeding 8,000 miles in range. Tass stated the flight and all stages operated as planned.

Robert M. Cravens a 40 year old Solsberry resident and father of three was found crushed to death by a tractor on a county road near his home. He had used the machine to pull railroad ties from snow and drifts when a chain became entangled in the rear wheels and the tractor rolled down an embankment. His two sons Gail 13 and James 11 discovered the scene Monday at about 11 30 a m according to investigators.
Cravens died when a tractor overturned crushing his chest. he was found by his two sons. Born April 5, 1924 in Bedford, he was the son of Thomas A. and Nellie M. Miller Cravens. A World War II veteran, he worked for John R. Figg Wholesalers in Bloomington. Surviving are his wife Edna Mae, his parents, and three children Robert Gail James M. and Nancy Darlene. Funeral services are set for 11 am Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home Bloomfield with Rev Robert Richards officiating. Burial in Grandview cemetery.
Groundhog sightings across Indiana show a shadow indicating six more weeks of winter. Temperatures ranged from 10 below at Evansville to seven below in South Bend, with heavy snow totals from 2 to 8 inches across key cities. The day marks the 161st anniversary of Indiana's record cold as dismal winds and calm dawns followed the storm.
The February term of Greene Circuit Court opened Monday with several cases heard. Cases include Louis Spinks and Inez Spinks versus Helen Spinks reset for Feb 6. Interstate Finance Corp. continued for service. Edith Fiscus versus Gary Fiscus reset for Feb 27. Freddie Gene Thompson pleaded guilty to second degree burglary with pre sentence investigation ordered. The court found for Pacific Finance Loans Inc. in $662.24 principal and interest and $132.40 attorney fees and costs against Elmore and Josephine Wiggington, and for Bloomfield State Bank in the note against William and Betty Young for $814 principal and $162 attorney fees and costs.

United Press International reports Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and 767 followers were arrested in Selma Alabama in the largest mass arrest since Birmingham 1963. The march targeted Dallas County Courthouse to register Negroes to vote. 474 arrestees were children released after juvenile court orders. King and Rev Ralph Abernathy declined bond and were jailed with a sack of peanuts and cookies. Authorities labeled the action a planned civil rights drive. A separate Mississippi grand jury at Philadelphia began a new inquiry into last year’s three civil rights workers deaths. Eighten white men face federal conspiracy charges. In Shreveport four officers were indicted for brutality against five Negroes in a theft case. In Jackson the Sovereignty Commission sent observers to monitor Negro voter drives for subversive links. In Greenville Judge Claude Clayton ruled Negroes are entitled to relief after a restaurant refused service on January 8.
The International Longshoremen's Association keeps its strike at East and Gulf ports despite a White House appeal. Philadelphia Galveston and Miami remain holdouts as Baltimore approves a new four year contract joining New York Boston Norfolk New Orleans and Mobile. Union leaders vow to wait for settlements nationwide while Johnson emphasizes reaching agreements in all ports.
Francis Haseman is recuperating from surgery at St. Joseph hospital in Tucson and is reported to be recovering satisfactorily.
Indiana Bell announces lower long distance charges in new schedules saving Hoosiers about 2.5 million dollars yearly. Night and Sunday bargain rates start after 8 p.m. previously 9 p.m. and apply all day Sunday with 40 cent or less within Indiana and 1 dollar or less across the continental U S. Most calls fall under these caps. many evening rates also reduced and extend to Saturdays.
Linton Retail Merchants Association met at the public library to finalize Dollar Days on Friday and Saturday. They approve a three day George Washington Crazy Days on February 19 20 and 22 with committee members Dick Hastings and Dick Jerrell. Raymond Correll presided and 94 letters to members were reported.
State departments announce distribution of motor vehicle highway funds totaling 9,588,322 to Indiana counties and 4,315,730 to Hoosier cities and towns for the last quarter of 1964. Greene County receives 136,831. Sullivan 89,946. Knox 133,901. Owen 68,035. Cities and towns receive Bloomfield 3,162. Linton 8,156. Sullivan 7,079.
