Lincoln Link Jones 67 of Dugger, a retired coal miner, died at 6 10 this morning at Mary Sherman hospital Sullivan after two years of ill health and one month of serious illness. Born August 5 1882 he lived most of his life in Dugger and belonged to Bethel Methodist church. Survived by widow Margaret K Barrow man Jones, married May 9 1903, and sister Mona Martin of California. Body to Evans Funeral home Dugger with calling after Friday 6 00 pm. funeral arrangements pending.
Lois Lind of rural route two Lin ton is among 230 Indiana State Teachers College students named to the honor roll for the fall quarter. The announcement highlights local students achieving academic distinction at Terre Haute.
Mrs Raymond Roudebush underwent major surgery Wednesday afternoon. A girl weighing 7 pounds 12 ounces was born by Caesarean to Mrs Arthur Stevens of Linton route 1 last night. Lester Fancher of Newberry had an appendectomy Wednesday night. Mrs Clara D Mowery of Linton route 2 was dismissed Wednesday. Isaac Kellam of Valeen has been taken to Bloomfield. Mrs Abbey Herrington and baby of Worthington rural route were taken home yesterday. Dennis Wayne Figg has been taken to his home in Bloomfield. Mrs Mary Gerald of Bloomfield was released today, William Slater of Linton has been dismissed.
Sullivan Circuit Judge Norval K. Harris was free on his own recognizance awaiting a February 24 hearing on indictments charging forgery a fraudulent check and embezzlement. Harris claimed the allegations are false and criticized the prosecutor while promising to live lawfully.
