Bloomfield Fans Plan Victory Caravan After Wabash Valley Win
Bloomfield High School basketball fans planned a victory caravan after the team won the Wabash Valley net championship Saturday in Terre Haute. A victory bonfire at Bloomfield High featured hot dogs and coffee served by the Boosters club. Sheriff Jack Blakely escorted the team home and the parade was led by the Linton City Fire truck. The Waley championship was the Cardinals second in a row and third in school history.

Funeral services for Olive M. LaDuke 46 of Linton were conducted at the Anderson Poindexter Memory Chapel with Rev. William T. Murphy in charge. Burial followed in Fairview cemetery. She died Friday at Good Samaritan hospital Vineland. Surviving are husband Herbert Lester LaDuke one daughter Janice Kay LaDuke a sister Opal Arnold and a brother Sherrill Melton.

Six Die In Indiana Traffic Wrecks Weekend Toll Rises
United Press International reports at least six deaths from Indiana traffic accidents over the weekend. Victims include Sidney L. Vance of Owensboro Kentucky, aged 14, who was killed when a truck struck a traffic island near Fowler after he jumped from the vehicle. Other fatalities occurred in Madison County crossfire, Fort Wayne fogged intersections, Pendleton train crossing, Munster street crash, and a Richmond vehicle collision.
