Goodman aged 54 of 8 East Miller avenue West Terre Haute died at 5 p.m. Wednesday from injuries after being struck by a car driven by Frank Augustus of Dennison Indiana at the Sumner and National avenues intersection. Surviving husband Ollie two sons Leo V and John W Goodman father John W Stiner sister Mrs Everett Whittington brothers Frank and Emory Stiner and one grandchild. Funeral arrangements are pending at Rogerson Wedel Funeral Home.

Rev. Eugene Schneider of Mt. Vernon arrives in Linton to serve as pastor of the Saton Evangelical and Reformed church for two months. He earned an AB degree at Elmhurst College last week and will bridge his graduation and Chicago Theological Seminary. He succeeds Rev. Carl Hofmann, now in Ohio. Schneider is single and resides at 140 A Street Northeast.
Judge Karl Parker Vosloh will oversee a naturalization hearing in the Greene Circuit Court Bloomfield on Tuesday February 20. An immigration service representative will conduct the hearing. Twelve county residents including Mrs. Bessie Tate of Linton will receive final naturalization papers that day after preparation classes in Glenburn.

U S First and Third Armies fight flank to flank into Siegfried Line outposts along a 40 mile front through Belgium Luxembourg and Germany. The French First Army opened a new Alsace attack near Strasbourg as Patton's vanguard pushed two and a half miles into Germany within eight miles of Prum amid thaw and two feet of snow. The momentum may place Patton well inside the Siegfried defenses by day’s end.
