Turn Sea Water Into Drinking Water By Solar Stills
Airmen will use solar stills in life raft envelopes to desalinate seawater. Six stills per plane emergency raft inflate a tube to vaporize two quarts of seawater, condense drinkable water in a reservoir, yielding about one pint daily. Desalting kits exist for cloudy or sunless days but produce less water.
